Hydrate⁴ Electrolytes

Hydrate⁴ Electrolytes

Dissolve 1 sachet in 500–750mL of water, depending on your flavour preference. Take 1-2 sachets daily depending on your level of activity. Do not consume more than 2 sachets per day. Best served cold, stirred well or shaken in a water bottle or shaker.

Electrolyte⁴ is designed for daily use to keep you hydrated through all of life’s activities. Enhanced hydration support is particularly beneficial:

-Before or during exercise to maintain performance and endurance.
-During or after sauna use to replenish lost minerals.
-Throughout the day to stay optimally hydrated.
-During recovery from illness to aid in rehydration.
-At the onset of a headache or migraine to alleviate symptoms.
-Before drinking alcohol to maintain hydration.
-To ease hangover symptoms.

Feedback from our customers shows the most common usage is first thing in the morning to re-hydrate, 30 minutes before a workout or any high-intensity activity, or when they need a mental boost. Remember, when it comes to replacing lost electrolytes – preparing in advance is much better than trying to catch up afterward.

We encourage you to find what works best for you and share your experiences with us – we’re always eager for feedback!

Yes! Hydrate⁴ electrolytes are suitable to take alongside all other Two Islands products as part of your daily wellness routine. We recommend pairing Hydrate⁴ with our Pea Protein Powders and Move Me for the ultimate energy and recovery support.

Electrolyte⁴ is suitable for everyone to take, however, we recommend taking it 2 hours away from any prescribed medication. Some minerals, such as calcium and magnesium, can impact the absorption of certain medications, potentially reducing their effectiveness.

While Electrolyte⁴ is designed to support your hydration needs, it’s important to use it as directed and not exceed the recommended dosage as overconsumption of electrolytes can lead to imbalances.

Vitamin and mineral supplementation should not replace a healthy, balanced diet.

Electrolyte⁴ is for anyone wanting to support their daily hydration needs. Not just for athletes or those with a high-performance output, Electrolyte⁴ supports optimal hydration for busy mums, pregnancy and breastfeeding support, hot climates or sauna use, people on low-carb or ketogenic diets, those recovering from illness or dehydration, or anyone looking to increase water absorption without added sugar or artificial ingredients.

Electrolyte⁴ is great for maintaining hydration all day - whether you’re working, exercising, parenting, or just living life. If you have any concerns, we always recommend to consult your healthcare provider before use, especially if you have conditions like high blood pressure or kidney disease.

Hydrate⁴ helps optimise your hydration by supporting the body’s essential functions that rely on electrolytes. Whether you’re recovering from exercise or simply navigating a busy day, Hydrate⁴ can assist with improving hydration at the cellular level, enhancing muscle performance and recovery, supporting energy production, replenishing electrolytes lost through sweat and heat, and avoiding dehydration without the added sugar found in typical sports drinks.

Hydrate⁴ electrolytes are formulated with minerals that are easily absorbed by the body and start supporting hydration as soon as they enter your digestive system. Since electrolytes help water move into your cells, you may feel the effects shortly after drinking, especially if you're already low on fluids or electrolytes. Everyone’s body is different, but many people notice a difference within 30 minutes.

Hydrate⁴ electrolytes are safe to take while pregnant and breastfeeding. Electrolyte requirements, especially sodium and potassium, increase during pregnancy due to increased blood volume, hormones and dietary needs, and whilst breastfeeding due to increased fluid loss, higher requirements due to breast milk production, as well as ensuring nutritious breast milk.

Absolutely! Hydrate⁴ is suitable for those following a keto diet, thanks to its low-carb, low-sugar formulation.

Concerns about excessive salt intake are valid, but it's important to differentiate between salt from processed foods and salt from whole foods and supplements. The majority of excess salt intake comes from processed and ultra-processed foods, which often contain high levels of sodium along with unhealthy fats and sugars.

Hydrate⁴ contains 1,000mg of sodium per serving, which is perfectly fine when taken 1-2 times a day, especially if you follow a whole foods diet that is low in processed foods. This level of sodium helps maintain proper hydration and electrolyte balance, which is particularly important for active individuals or those on low-carb diets.

Research, such as the Intersalt Study, shows no direct correlation between high salt intake and high blood pressure across various populations. In fact, high sodium intake from a diet rich in whole, unprocessed foods does not pose the same risks as sodium from processed foods.

Always consider your overall diet and lifestyle when evaluating your sodium intake. If you avoid processed foods and maintain a balanced diet, supplementing with Hydrate⁴ can be beneficial for your hydration needs without posing a health risk.

Happy Gut

Happy Gut

We recommend that you consult with your healthcare professional if you are taking any blood thinning medication before using Happy Gut.

Yes. For children 6 – 15 years, add ½ a rounded teaspoon (approx. 2g) mixed into 100ml of water daily or as professionally advised.

Teenagers from 16 years and above may take the adult dose by adding 2 rounded teaspoons (approx. 8g) mixed into 200ml of water daily or as professionally advised.

Yes, Happy Gut can be part of a low FODMAP diet. We will highlight two things for you and your health practitioner(s) to be aware of:

Happy Gut includes a prebiotic fibre made from apples. This means the residual fructose is extremely low, making it OK for FODMAP diets.

The inclusion of chamomile in Happy Gut is not low FODMAP however, it is a very small amount and can be tolerated in many cases.

If you have any concerns, please consult your health practitioner for advice.

Happy Gut includes a prebiotic apple fibre. There will be some residual fructose, and other related sugars, locked into the fibre the after the extraction, however, these residual sugars are hard to get at and remain locked into both soluble and insoluble fibre. After consuming apple fibre, some of this bound fructose might become unbound during digestion while the remainder will pass through the gut undigested.

Apple fibre presents a very small exposure to those with a fructose intolerance condition.

We do not recommend taking Happy Gut whilst taking blood thinning medication.

Happy Gut contains slippery elm which coats the digestive tract so it is best to take Happy Gut two hours away from any medications or vitamins.

Absolutely! Happy Gut supports healthy digestive function and overall gut health. A healthy gut supports optimal nutrient absorption.

Happy Gut is complementary to, not a replacement for probiotics. We need probiotics to promote good gut bacteria and prebiotics to feed them. We recommend supporting Happy Gut by including probiotic rich fermented foods to your diet like sauerkraut and kimchi. You can even add Happy Gut along with probiotic rich ingredients such as coconut yoghurt, kombucha or apple cider vinegar to your smoothie for a natural dose of probiotics.

Happy Gut contains slippery elm which coats the digestive tract so it is best to take Happy Gut two hours away from any medications or vitamins. Otherwise, you can take Happy Gut anytime during the day.

Apple fibre is a rich source of both soluble and insoluble fibre which can help to bulk stools and allow for regular and comfortable bowel motions. It is also a source of antioxidants and vitamin D, which is also involved in supporting a healthy gut lining. As a good source of prebiotic fibre, it helps to feed the good bacteria in our gut, helping with a healthy intestinal microbial balance. Studies have shown that apple fibre can increase a type of fatty acid in the body called butyrate, which can decrease the number of harmful bacteria in the intestine.

Prebiotics are compounds that growth and activity of beneficial bacteria. We like to think of our gut flora as a garden that needs fertiliser in order to flourish and bloom. Prebiotics act as the fertiliser for our gut microbes, supporting a healthy balance of beneficial bacteria and bad bacteria. Essentially, prebiotics are food for the bacteria in your gut.

When it comes to gut health, it’s not just our digestion that can be affected. Studies show that a healthy gut is vital for overall health and wellbeing. From a strong immune system, to clear, healthy skin, a happy mood, a healthy brain, heart and good sleep, a happy gut means a happy body and mind.

Things like stress, a poor diet, alcohol, antibiotics and other medications can upset the balance of our gut bacteria and cause damage to our intestinal lining. When this happens, our digestion can be significantly affected. This can change the way we react to certain foods, impact on the amount of nutrients we absorb, as well as cause overall abdominal discomfort and upset our bowel patterns too.

Everyone can benefit from taking Happy Gut! Things like stress, a poor diet, sugar, processed food, alcohol, artificial sweeteners, antibiotics and some medications can disrupt our gut microbiota and damage our intestinal lining. Many of these factors are simply unavoidable in today’s modern lifestyle so the heaping helpings of goodness in Happy Gut can help nourish the gut, support gut lining integrity and promote the growth and activity of beneficial bacteria to support overall gut health.

Majority of Happy Gut’s ingredients like the NZ apple fibre, chia seeds, and herbs are not completely soluble in nature. The slippery elm in Happy Gut also takes a slightly gelatinous form hence it remains suspended in your drink.

Milk Maker

Milk Maker

One of the main herbs in Milk Maker, Fenugreek, is known to have a distinctively sweet, maple syrup-like smell. Some people may notice after taking Milk Maker for a period of time that their sweat or urine begins to take on this maple syrup smell. This is a normal reaction.

Fenugreek and Goat’s Rue are also known to lower blood sugar levels, therefore Milk Maker is not recommended for diabetics or those taking insulin or blood sugar lowering medications.

Milk Maker is not recommended during pregnancy or for those with diabetes, hypoglycaemia or uncontrolled blood sugar levels or those on insulin or blood sugar lowering medications. We suggest speaking to your healthcare practitioner first before taking Milk Maker if you have any of these conditions.

Milk Maker is not recommended during pregnancy. As Milk Maker is designed for supporting breast milk, we recommend that it is only taken once you have started breast feeding and have sought advice from your healthcare professional.

We do not recommend taking Milk Maker while taking insulin or blood sugar lowering medication. Herbs such as Fenugreek and Goats Rue can have hypoglycaemic effects, so they are best avoided while on these medications.

Yes! Consuming enough protein each day and keeping well hydrated are also important to help with optimal milk supply. Adding one of our protein powders to your favourite smoothie or simply water, is a quick and fuss free way to up your protein. Hydration is also key while breastfeeding. Our high-strength electrolytes are therefore ideal during this time and beyond.

No, Milk Maker is free of gluten, dairy, nuts, soy and GMOs.

While every Mum is different, you should start to see results within as little as 1-3 days.

Once your milk volume has increased and at a steady supply, you can stop taking Milk Maker or reduce the dose to every other day. It is important to remember that breast milk is produced on a “supply and demand” basis. Therefore, you will need to remove milk from your breasts via frequent feeding or pumping to maintain your increased supply.

Yes! Milk Maker is 100% plant-based and is suitable for both vegans and vegetarians. Milk Maker contains natural herbs in a vegan friendly vege capsule.

Two Islands Milk Maker is specially formulated for the busy Mum who needs help with increasing milk supply and volume. Using natural galactagogue herbs including Fenugreek and Goat's Rue, Milk Maker quickly and effectively helps to increase breast milk supply to support growing babies. These herbs, along with the addition of Shatavari, also help to support healthy digestion in Mum and baby and can help to provide stress support during what can be an overwhelming time.

A galactagogue is a herb, food or medication that works to increase breast milk supply. The most well-known and effective galactagogue herbs include Fenugreek, Goat’s Rue and Shatavari. Foods such as oats, brewer’s yeast and pumpkin seeds are also known to have galactagogue properties.

Benefits of breastfeeding include:

  • Provides balanced nutrition which adjusts to your baby’s developmental needs with age
  • Provides antibodies to support your baby’s immune system
  • Promotes healthy weight gain and reduces the risk of childhood obesity
  • Supports baby’s brain development
  • Supports uterine recovery post birth

We recommend taking 1 capsule of Milk Maker with water in the morning with food. For further support, the dose may be increased to 1 capsule, twice daily.

For optimal milk supply, it’s important to stay hydrated and make sure you’re getting enough protein each day too. We suggest pairing Milk Maker with Two Islands Pea Protein for a quick and easy top up of protein when you’re short on time.

There are a number of foods you can include in your diet to help boost your milk supply. Foods such as oats, fennel, garlic, pumpkin seeds, fenugreek seeds and brewer’s yeast are known to help increase milk flow in nursing mothers.

Along with these foods, staying hydrated and consuming an adequate amount of protein each day is crucial for good milk volume. Protein needs during breastfeeding increase to not only support your milk supply, but your baby’s growth too. We suggest aiming for around 1.1 grams of protein per kilogram of total body weight each day. For example, this means if you weigh 70kg, you will need around 77g of protein each day. High protein foods include red meat, chicken, fish, eggs, tofu, nuts and seeds.

Some herbs such as peppermint, sage and parsley may decrease milk supply if consumed in large quantities. Alcohol can also have an effect on oxytocin release (the hormone which causes the muscles around the nipple to contract and release milk) which can then reduce the amount of milk let-down.

Milk Maker is a convenient, one-a-day capsule formulation. This makes it ideal for busy Mums that don’t have a lot of time to whip up a batch of lactation cookies or have their hands free (or the time) to feed themselves or brew a hot cup of tea!

Lactation cookies can also often be filled with additional sugar, flavourings and extra calories that some people may prefer to avoid. While breastfeeding teas are another option, the nature of galactagogue herbs can be quite bitter tasting and often require several cups over the day to produce therapeutic effects. When you’re a busy Mum, a hot (and entire) cup of tea can become a thing of the past. Two Islands Milk Maker therefore makes it simple – just one capsule a day is all you need to support your supply.

There are a number of reasons as to why your milk supply may be low. These include:

  • A poor latch
  • Infrequent or short feedings
  • Medications including antihistamines or oral contraceptive pills
  • Health conditions such as PCOS or hypothyroidism
  • Premature birth
  • Previous breast surgery or injury
  • Stress
  • Low calorie diet
  • Dehydration

Pea Protein Powder

Pea Protein Powder

Consumption is entirely situation-dependent. If you exercise regularly, two serves per day is suitable. One during the day as preferred and another directly after training or exercise. One serve on recovery days is fine.

Two Islands Pea Protein is safe to consume during pregnancy and breastfeeding. However, it is advised to discuss any supplement intake with your GP or Healthcare Professional before consumption, just to be safe.

Yes, our Pea Protein Powder is plant based and vegan friendly.

Our Two Islands Pea Protein Powder can be mixed with your milk of choice (cow’s, oat, almond, etc.). It is also great mixed with yoghurt and your smoothie for a post-workout snack.

While protein is important to help maintain and build muscle mass, consuming more protein as part of a healthy diet is not going to make you bulk up. Unlike carbohydrates and fat, the body can’t physically store protein. Any protein that is consumed in the diet is going to either be used by the body, stored as fat or excreted and not sent directly to your muscles.
